Evolution of my artistic consciousness and craft

While my collage is non-representational, non-illustrative and not intended as polemic, my identity as a Jew who by mere chance, having been born a continent away from the killing fields, is never far from my consciousness.

Beginning 1995, in response to the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, my art shifted from random works to serial sets based on Jewish themes. My Israel Series, a direct response to the Rabin murder, continued from 1995 to approximately 2000, overlapping my next "series," dedicated to Jonathan Jay Pollard, sentenced 20+ years ago to life in prison for spying for America's ally, Israel.

In 2005 my focus took a darker turn with my Shoah Series.

In terms of craft there is much overlap between the two earlier series, Israel and Pollard. With my Shoah Series my work took a dramatic turn, increasingly topographical, achieving finally complete freedom from an anchoring surface, sculpture in the round.
